Hi, my name is Clair. Clair with no “e”!
Welcome to my little corner of the internet!
I’m a middle-aged perimenopausal woman navigating life with significant health challenges, along with a diminishing sense of humour! Since undergoing treatment for multiple non-cancerous brain tumors in 2020, I have been unable to work. This was compounded by a pre-existing condition of ME/CFS.
This was not always the case however, I hold fond memories of a life deeply connected with horses. I studied equestrianism at agricultural college and spent several years working with these magnificent animals, as well as owning my own horse, Lucky. It was during my studies my love of Dr Martens was strengthened as I not only wore them for riding but at all other times too! My first pair were smooth black leather 1460 boots which were purchased in the early 1990s.
My passion extends beyond the equestrian world to the realm of football. I am an ardent supporter of AFC Wimbledon, having been a season ticket holder for thirty years. My dedication to the club led me to work for the fan’s club for five years, an experience I cherish.
Life has changed in many ways, but I remain connected to my past passions and continue to support and follow the things I love.
I’m passionate about Dr. Martens boots and have turned this love into a unique craft: renovating and rejuvenating authentic vintage, rare, and secondhand Dr. Martens. Each pair has a story to tell, and I take great pride in restoring them to their former glory.
Living with chronic illness has its challenges, and while it prevents me from working a traditional job, it hasn’t stopped me from pursuing my passion. I work from my bed, finding immense satisfaction in each renovation project. This work not only helps fill the time but also provides a therapeutic outlet for my creativity.
I began my journey on Vinted, where I’ve garnered hundreds of positive reviews from satisfied customers. Encouraged by this success, I decided to start my own website to have full control over my work and to offer a more personalized experience.
My shop is filled with renovated and rejuvenated authentic vintage, rare, and secondhand Dr. Martens boots. I enjoy searching for my next renovation project online and use the very best products so once refurbished, they will last many many more years. Every boot I restore is a labor of love, and I’m excited to share my journey and craftsmanship with you.
